Moon Township is located approximately 12 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh. Its prime location, broad housing selection and excellent school system have helped it grow into a thriving community with thousands of residents.

Moon Township is home to the main campus of Robert Morris University, which offers students the opportunity to pursue more than 60 undergraduate and 20 graduate degree programs. Companies such as Nova Chemicals, FedEx Ground, and Coventry Health Care have chosen to make their headquarters here. In 2003, the Moon Township Board of Supervisors approved a new plan for commercial development along the University Boulevard corridor, which has led to more than $25 million worth of new development in that area.

A large portion of Pittsburgh International Airport is located in Moon Township, simplifying domestic and international travel for residents and bringing numerous visitors to the region. Easy access to major highways like I-79 and the Parkway West lets residents take advantage of all the greater Pittsburgh area has to offer, including art galleries, theaters, restaurants, sporting events, and concert venues.
